Supernova Donation to Zadar General Hospital

Supernova Shopping Center in Zadar has donated a state-of-the-art Olympus BX46F-1-3 microscope, valued at €26,590, to Zadar General Hospital. The microscope has been installed in the Department of Pathology and Cytology, one of the key diagnostic departments within the hospital system.

The Department of Pathology and Cytology plays an exceptionally important role in diagnosing diseases, determining treatment plans, and monitoring treatment outcomes, particularly for oncology patients. Although its work rarely attracts widespread public attention, pathologists’ findings are essential to medical decision-making across virtually all fields of medicine.

Due to the department’s demanding daily workload and the large number of samples it processes, the existing equipment faces technical limitations and obsolescence, which can affect the speed and accuracy of diagnostic procedures. The donated Olympus BX46F-1-3 microscope, featuring an advanced optical system and an expanded field of view, enables greater accuracy, faster interpretation of findings, and more reliable clinical decision-making, directly impacting patient treatment.

“This donation represents a significant improvement in the quality of our working conditions, operational efficiency, and professional standards. For the hospital as a whole, it is an investment in the quality of healthcare and patient safety. We would like to thank Supernova Shopping Center Zadar for this valuable donation and for recognizing the importance of pathology within the broader healthcare system,” said Ivana Marić, MD, Acting Head of the Department of Pathology and Cytology at Zadar General Hospital.

In addition to its technical advantages, the new equipment provides better working conditions for the department’s staff, contributing to the long-term improvement of healthcare quality.

“We are delighted that, once again this year, we can contribute to the modernization of Zadar General Hospital and support the work of healthcare professionals whose daily contribution to patients’ health is invaluable. This donation reflects our commitment to providing our fellow citizens with tangible, long-term support through ongoing meaningful contributions,” said Iva Fisher, Manager of Supernova Shopping Center Zadar.

With this donation, Supernova Shopping Center Zadar has once again demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility and support for the local community, particularly in the healthcare sector, where investments in modern equipment directly contribute to higher-quality and safer patient care.
